【摘要】:Thistestmethodissuitableforsettingspecificationsonbenzeneandforuseasaninternalqualitycontroltoolwherebenzeneiseitherproducedorusedinamanufacturingprocess.ThistestmethodwasfoundapplicablefordeterminingthiopheneinrefinedbenzeneconformingtothespecificationsdescribedinSpecificationD2359andmaybeapplicabletowardothergradesofbenzeneiftheuserhastakenthenecessaryprecautionsasdescribedinthetext.ThistestmethodwasdevelopedasanalternativetechniquetoTestMethodD1685.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthiopheneinrefinedbenzeneintherangefrom0.80to1.80mg/kgfortheFlamePhotometricDetector(FPD),andfrom0.14to2.61mg/kgforthePulsedFlamePhotometricDetector(PFPD).ForthePFPD,theminimumlevelofquantitation(LOQ)is0.14mg/kgandtheminimumlevelofdetection(LOD)is0.04mg/kg,asdescribedinASTMResearchReportRR:D16-1038.Therangeofthetestmethodmaybeextendedbymodifyingthesampleinjectionvolume,splitratios,calibrationrange,orsampledilutionwiththiophene-freesolvent.1.2ThistestmethodhasbeenfoundapplicabletobenzenecharacteristicofthetypedescribedinSpecificationsD2359andD4734andmaybeapplicabletoothertypesorgradesofbenzeneonlyaftertheuserhasdemonstratedthattheprocedurecancompletelyresolvethiophenefromtheotherorganiccontaminantscontainedinthesample.1.3Thefollowingappliestoallspecifiedlimitsinthistestmethod:forpurposesofdeterminingconformancetoapplicablespecificationusingthistestmethod,anobservedvalueoracalculatedvalueshallberoundedoffx201C;tothenearestunitx201D;inthelastright-handdigitusedinexpressingthespecificationlimitinaccordancewiththerounding-offmethodofPracticeE29.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection7.
