【摘要】:SoundtransmissionlossasdefinedinTerminologyC634,referstotheresponseofspecimensexposedtoadiffuseincidentsoundfield,andthisisthetestconditionapproachedbythislaboratorytestmethod.Thetestresultsarethereforemostdirectlyrelevanttotheperformanceofsimilarspecimensexposedtosimilarsoundfields.Theyprovide,however,ausefulgeneralmeasureofperformanceforthevarietyofsoundfieldstowhichapartitionorelementmaytypicallybeexposed.Thistestmethodisnotintendedforfieldtests.FieldtestsshouldbeperformedaccordingtoTestMethodE336.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthelaboratorymeasurementofairbornesoundtransmissionlossofbuildingpartitionssuchaswallsofallkinds,operablepartitions,floor-ceilingassemblies,doors,windows,roofs,panels,andotherspace-dividingelements.1.2LaboratoryAccreditation8212;AprocedureforaccreditingalaboratoryforperformingthistestmethodisgiveninAnnexA3.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
